Team Outdoor helped execute one of the most successful media trips I’ve attended – and I’ve been on quite a few over my eight years as a PR rep for outdoor and active lifestyle brands.
Our client, ust (you-ess-tee), asked us to help organize a media trip that represented the brand’s commitment to making the outdoors a more approachable space for outdoor enthusiasts of all people. We brought together ust’s media friends through a series of fun activations, product testing opportunities, and experiences that they could use for future content, with the main goal being to have a ton of fun while strengthening ust’s relationships with outdoor and travel media.
Enter: an epic desert road trip. Our team facilitated a partnership with a luxury camper van rental startup, Moterra. We made our way from Salt Lake City, UT to Las Vegas, NV over the course of four days, making a few incredible pit stops along the way. From racing side-by-sides through the desert, to glamping at Yonder Escalante, we packed as much fun into the trip as possible while showcasing top tier ust gear.
There were gourmet camp food cook-offs, hikes to incredible overlooks, detours through some of the country’s most amazing national parks, and plenty of late night camp fire hangs. To cap off the media event, we checked into our hotel in Las Vegas to freshen up after a few days of van life, had one last group dinner, then made our way to Fremont Street for a true Las Vegas experience.
Our team had a ton of fun bringing such an incredible trip to life to showcase a brand in the wild and product test gear with top tier target media. From conceptualizing the event to landing a killer roster of media attendees from outlets such as Travel + Leisure, Men’s Journal, Gear Junkie, we played an integral part in helping ust deliver a truly unique experience for our media friends.
